WHAT IS COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL HYPNOTHERAPY?
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy or CBT combines the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and hypnosis to positively influence emotional and behavioural change. It works on both a conscious and subconscious level. The process itself allows change within to allow the client to remodel negative and dysfunctional beliefs. Unwanted thoughts and behaviours from the past are cleared away and then techniques to retrain thought processes are utilised to bring about the changes required to achieve the clients goals.
WHAT WILL BEING IN HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, where the subconscious is receptive to suggestions to bring about positive change. You will be aware of what is happening and your surroundings, so you are in control throughout the session. Clients find being deeply relaxed in hypnosis very beneficial and the benefits of this relaxation continue beyond the session itself. The actual sensation of being under hypnosis has been likened to feeling like being in a daydream.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE SESSION?
A welcome chat to encourage comfort and relaxation. The first part of hypnotherapy is the induction - you will be guided into a state of deep physical and mental relaxation. Once deeply relaxed, I will work with the subconscious through the use of suggestions to facilitate change, helping you work towards and achieve your goals. Once the 'change work' is complete, the I will begin the transition to wakefulness, in which you are gradually brought out of hypnosis. Clients find the sessions very therapeutic and relaxing, reporting an increase in the quality of sleep.
