What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Jan Williams explains CBT.
'Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy combines CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) with hypnosis to bring about positive emotional and behavioural change. It differs from traditional hypnotherapy in that is combines a range of theories such as positive psychology, neuroscience and NLP to help you achieve your goals. This allows each session to be tailored to your specific needs and requirements, delivering a bespoke and unique service.
The sessions incorporate an analytical approach, whereby unwanted thoughts and behaviours from the past are cleared away. The client is then given strategies and techniques to retrain the brain allowing the client to make the changes needed.
Hypnosis takes place when the client is in a deep state of relaxation. Many people liken it to feeling in a daydream. You will be aware of your surroundings and in full control at all times. When you come back to full awareness you will feel very relaxed and most people experience a wonderful restful nights sleep after they have had a session.
