BANT Registered 2004 Sure Start - Resident Nutritionist - I piloted and now operate a scheme whereby the PCTs fund a clinic. This enables people to visit the clinic who may ordinarily not have the opportunity to do so. Patients from low income families are able to benefit from the nutritional advice.
Groups also attended included Bumps and Babes, Breastfeeding, Weaning and All About Women. I have recently launched the Healthy Lifestyle Programme which is a 4 week workshop including fitness classes.

Family Skills Groups - Liaising with Community Care Workers and Social Services, I hold workshops with 'at risk families', to ensure they are taught skills for healthy eating.

Food In Schools - Piloted a scheme whereby workshops were held for parents teaching healthy eating and food economics. This enabled parents to combat issues such as fussy eating, eating disorders, Brain Foods (the use of oils), Healthy Lunchbox Launch and managing to shop for healthy foods without exceeding their budgets.

Chaucer Hospital - Infertility Clinic - Patients are referred to me who are receiving or about to receive fertility treatment. Support and nutritional advice is given to help reduce weight, prepare for pregnancy and deal with any existing health issues which may prevent fertility.

Spire St Saviours Hospital, Seabrook, Hythe - Working along side the weight loss surgery team and private referrals.

Spire Sussex Hospital, Sussex

Private Practice - I run a successful private clinic whereby patients come to see me for advice and support to alleviate a host of symptoms. I am an allergy/intolerance therapist which enables me to remove suspect foods/allergens in order to improve health but prevent nutritional deficiencies. As a Nutritionist I am able to:

  • Prescribe foods and supplements to promote health and alleviate symptoms.
  • Address nutritional imbalances and weight gain/loss issues.
  • Explain the links between different foods (e.g. meats, vegetables, fruits, convenience foods, drinks) and nutrient compositions.
  • Review and analyse the client's food diary, nutritional plan and other lifestyle changes to promote health.

  • The future- As well a building on my existing projects and clinic, I am setting up lifestyle clinics for obese individuals, to assist in weight loss, build self esteem and encourage healthy lifestyles.

Special Interests Auto -Immune System Responses - Lupus, ME, CFS, Depression etc. A common problem, due to today's lifestyles and poor diet. Gastro-intestinal - IBS, Crohn's, Colitis, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Cancer. Behaviour - ADHD, OCD, Depression etc, using oils, food and supplements to promote health. Body Building - I offer specialist advice and diet programmes to enable body builders to achieve their goals, without creating nutritional deficiencies.

Nutritional therapy encompasses the use of carefully compiled individual prescriptions for diet and lifestyle in order to alleviate or prevent ailments and promote optimal health. These recommendations may include guidance on natural detoxification, procedures to promote colon health, methods to support digestion and absorption, the avoidance of ingestion or inhalation of toxins or allergens and the appropriate use of supplementary nutrients. Nutritional therapists often work with patients, many of whom have been referred by medical practitioners, who have chronic health problems that conventional medicine finds difficult to treat.
